This book is good. I didn’t put this down. The first half is definitely better and I think it started to lose me after that. Sometimes I wonder, are these topics so gripping to read about in the same way we love true crime, indulging in deep traumas from a safe far distance? It feels murky somehow. 

As is the delight of historical fiction, stories dowsed in enough truths to make the whole story become real. 

I definitely think this is worth reading. I felt things reading this that I don’t think I’ve felt before.
