The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
slow-paced
2.75
The Last Time I Lied, by Riley Sager, is a slow-paced mystery/thriller, with short chapters.
Don't come at me guys... I really wanted to love that book, but I just didn't....
I didn't feel anything for the main characters and felt quite bored throughout the story. It's a very slow start and, in my opinion, a slow plot all along. I still kept reading it because I wanted to see what was going to happen, but I'd say I was disappointed.
It all felt very scattered to me. I felt like a lot of information or "plot twists" were not necessary and they felt more like fillers rather than being actually useful to the plot. Many things also felt unbelievable and didn't make much sense.
The plot twist in the end wasn't surprising to me. I saw it coming and it was too little too late, in my opinion...
Maybe it was just a hit and miss for me, and I'm sure his other books are good, but this one just wasn't a hit in my case....
