I am astounded by how bad this book was. I’m ace and possibly aro as well, so I was definitely looking forward to a book centred around my orientations, and in some ways, Loveless was just that. Being this ownvoices, there were some parts that did resonate with me and brought a smile to my face and made me happy I wasn’t the only one feeling like that. But representation can only get you so far.

For once, the writing was too simple, which made the book boring. There were too many descriptions of clothes and too little effort put on actually telling how the characters looked like. The characters, by the way, were supremely unlikeable. Especially Georgia.

So, in conclusion, this book was awful and I hope Oseman sticks to making comics, because novels really aren’t her forte.
