Season of the Dragon by Natalie Wright

I’m still shook from how this book ended. I knew nothing about how Quen’s journey would be, but if I had known the exact nature of it, I would’ve planned to binge read this in one sitting.
Quen is a fun character to be in the mind of. She is determined and observant while also unyielding in so many ways. She has no fear in defying the unknown, especially when unknown laws are thrust upon her. She continues to demand answers despite no one offering them. And, when her true purpose is revealed, she doesn’t cower with that knowledge. There is certainly fear at times, but she accepts what was destined for her, and without giving too much away, I believe she is rewarded in a way for that. I hope that continues in the next book.
The world-building is fascinating. Because of the vastness of the world, so much is not known to those outside of the center, and it’s interesting to watch as they are forced to catch up with what applies to them with only a moment's notice. I hope that in the next book I can further learn about how the Exalted works and how the power tipped. I’m not sure where the story will go from here, but reading the available blurb, I’m excited to see the next journey.
