Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
5.0
I finished this book a couple of days ago now and I just can't stop thinking about it. I got completely sucked in right from the beginning and I love how the book was split up into chronological parts/sections with chapters. For me it was exactly as described in the synopsis and I wasn't disappointed at all.
My emotions were fully entangled with these characters, I took a liking to both Sam and Sadie, as well as the various side characters (except of course Dov). Even when their actions and decisions were poor, they were so human, flawed and relatable. I do think plot-wise this book attempted to tackle a few too many different social and political topics and issues though.
I've seen some people mention you don't need an interest in video games to enjoy this story and whilst that may be true for 'surface level' enjoyment. I really think a background knowledge and appreciation for video games would improve your experience of this book. I was fully invested with each game they created together and loved the gaming aspects of this novel.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
