Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney
4.0
Mini Audiobook Review: Thank you so much to MacMillan Audio for an advance copy of this!
This book will be out January 14th, 2025.
Alice Feeney is back with her latest twisty domestic thriller. I have read a few of her books and I feel like I'm so mixed on how I feel about them.
I was VERY invested in this story and was hooked very early on. This book is told primarily from the point of view of Grady as well as from his missing wife Abby. Feeney has this way of creating these narrative for both sides and you do not know which is correct. Grady gets himself in a sticky situation and is literally stuck. There are some twists which honestly I think I missed some of them and with the help of Reddit provided me with a clearer understand of what happened during the epilogue.
The narrators for this book are Richard Armitage and Tuppence Middleton. I didn't realize that Richard is an actor but also has done a handful of audiobooks. Tuppence was a new narrator to me and thought she handled the female point of view very well. There was also some extra sound effects that added to the audiobook listening which was a nice touch.
Bonus: This cover is STUNNING!
