The Fiancée Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur

Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.
It was ok at first but it requires a massive amount of "suspense of disbelief" after a certain point that just feels too much - even for a romance novel. Even with the fake dating troupe, the relationship felt forced and often relied on physical intimacy to show the reader and everyone "they are in love!". Maybe I'm too asexual for it but it is my belief that a relationship (even a faked one) should be built on more than just physical attraction to each other.

Otherwise, the characters are so flat and stereotypical that it hurts. Shy, introverted bookshop owner with a tragic background story. Flirty, extroverted celebrity-aligned black sheep of her family who is more than just her looks but is always reduced to it. The side characters aren't any better either.
