For starters, I did enjoy myself while reading this. But for whatever reason, of which I can't really quite pinpoint, there was something about this that just felt lacking. I liked this take on fake dating, and I really loved Chase's character. Him and Amos are very much the golden retriever/black cat combo. I was surprised by how layered the characters were. Chase puts on the front of being the happy, carefree bachelor that will never commit, but underneath it all, he is rather sensitive and just wants to be accepted. Amos is broody and introverted. You would think him and Chase would clash, but they didn't, despite how much Amos tried to make it so. All in all, this was a fun read, and I had no problems finishing it, but it's probably not going to be a favorite.
