Did I like this more than the first? I think I did!!
Roman and Iris 💭 I love them both
- the letter writing gets even better and cuter
- the fantasy world is built up more and we get SO much more of the divine battle going on
- multiple callbacks to my favorite scenes from Divine Rivals 😍 (the scene in the field when Roman arrives and the trenches scene)
- side characters get more backstories!!
- ROMAN YELLING “MY WIFE!” multiple times 😍 it was cheesy as hell but I still loved it (and the whole marriage thing in book one was not my favorite but still, it worked here)
- my one major drawback was the fact that there were basically three epilogues and it had me on a rollercoaster thinking it was over but then - OH WAIT, THERE’S MORE - rinse and repeat again
