4.5 ⭐️ 1.5 🌶️

This was my first read by the twisted sisters (yes, you absolutely can read this without reading ZA) and it did NOT disappoint!

The first 100 pages? Perfection.
The last 100 pages? Perfection with TWISTS. The set up for book two is immaculate.

We follow two alternating POVs in this book: Everest and Vesper. They are both unique and both their storylines have me absolutely hooked.

Vesper is THAT b*tch with a chip on her shoulder. She has fought tooth and nail to prove her worth and rise in the ranks of the air fae, but she has soft spots she doesn’t want anyone to see.

Everest has been trying to prove herself her whole life as the bullied, outcast daughter of a commander of the water fae. She will do anything for the people she loves. Everyone underestimates her, but that will be their ruin I fear. Because she’s also THAT b*tch.

Despite it being so long, it was a quick read. It’s fast-paced and the alternating chapters help move it along. This is definitely more plot driven, not a lot of romance…yet? I NEED more of Kaiser 🔥

Cannot wait for book 2!

Only complaint was that some of the explanations and world building tidbits were repeated too many times as if we hadn’t just been told the same thing two chapters ago.

•Elemental Magic
•Magical Academy setting
•Dual POV
•Fae/Vampires/Shifters
•Found Family
•Kingdoms at war
•A little Mystery
•A little sidekick animal like Pascal in Tangled 😂

Thank you to The Nerd Fam, Caroline, and Susanne for the ARC!
