Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey

3.0

I would recommend reading Fangirl Down by audiobook if that's your jam, as the narrator Callie Dalton did a fantastic job with this book.
I didn't think I would enjoy a golf romance but I actually did! I enjoyed the plot, pacing and writing style and this is my first read from Tessa Bailey. For the most part I had a good time reading this book but it was let down in my opinion by the MMC, Wells, and the spicy scenes.
I wasn't as big as a fan of Wells as Josephine was, as the MMC he was giving me some red flags and the over-protectiveness and inability to accept the word 'no' just let his character down.
For me personally the spicy scenes were really not my thing. I just wasn't into it and I didn't like the way Tessa Bailey wrote the scenes unfortunately they were so cringy and the word choices made me feel quite uncomfortable. The scenes are quite frequent too so that is where my rating of the book dropped.
I am potentially going to read the second book in this Big Shots series The Au Pair Affair as it comes out in summer 2024 and I would like to give Tessa Bailey another try.
