I loved this book as a tween, when I was starting to outgrow “American Girl” books and was excited to revisit it after so many years.
“The Morning Gift” was was one of Ibbotson’s more interesting works, blending history with a whirlwind romance.
The age gap is definitely more unsettling to me as an adult, but this is one of the few times a miscommunication trope actually hit.
