The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

"The sorrow was so large it threatened to tear through my skin. When he died, all things swift and beautiful and bright would be buried with him.”

Oh, I am a sucker a heartbreaking love story! Brought together by chance, Achilles and Patroclus forge an inseparable bond despite risking the gods' wrath.

Told from Patroclus's perspective, we see him training with, fighting alongside, and falling in love with the young demigod.

The settings are rich, the characters are nuanced, and a five-star review means it's been living in my brain long after I finished it.
