This was so cute and fun. Queerceañera is a wonderful depiction of the intersection between Mexican and queer culture. Joaquin is a great protagonist, and his friendship and romance with Felix is downright adorable. There's plenty of banter and shenanigans that made this quite the romp. I really loved the community around Joaquin between both his friends and his family. He may have a rough relationship with his conservative mother, but I really liked how the author handled that without making it too angsty. Joaquin goes on a journey of self-acceptance in this story. He was out as gay but didn't want to be "too much" by just existing. He really came into his own, and that was amazing to see. All in all, I really loved this!
