“Tales from the Hood” is another funny, gripping addition to Michael Buckley’s “The Sisters Grimm Series.”

This was one of my favourite middle grade series growing up and I’m so excited to revisit it as an adult to see how it holds up. The book is just as whimsical as I remembered, taking the classic fairytales and turning them on their heads.

“Tales from the Hood” gives a fairy tale twist to a legal drama about the Big Bad Wolf’s criminal trial. The Grimm family has to work overtime to have their close friend and protector, Mr. Canis, found not guilty when he is put on trial by the Scarlett Hand. The Grimms partner with the last few Everafters that they can trust to solve the case and save Mr. Canis because they are Grimms and that is what they do.
