Holy shit. This book is so near and dear to me. It’s so good. The writing is so immaculate. Just so incredible. The themes around colonialism, racism, and the wider structures of academia were well articulated but also left so much room for analysis. Probably the best book I’ve read this year
Graphic: Child abuse, Emotional abuse, Racial slurs, Racism, Suicidal thoughts, Xenophobia, Blood, Grief, Abandonment, Colonisation, and Classism
Moderate: Addiction, Hate crime, Misogyny, Slavery, Police brutality, Death of parent, Murder, and Classism
