I think I prefer Quinn's works when hijinks are afoot. There's a levity that comes from the absurdity of it all, and it's much much preferable to the melodrama for me.
Gregory has not a braincell in his pretty little head, and I can respect that! Lucinda thinks quite enough for both of them, and I trust her decision making skills far more than his. The first half of this book drags a little, a lot of "will they? won't they? he's got eyes for someone else!", the same as the rest of the books in the series.
But then, many interesting things happen in rapid succession, and it's fun! I was actively engaged in the ending of this book, and I did actually like both Gregory and Lucy (and Hermoine and Haselby, for that matter). This may have been my favorite book of the series, I'm still deciding on that front.
