The Green Mile by Stephen King

5.0

Being honest I’m not well versed with King’s work. I’ve read some of his shorter novels, but this was just on another level.
Death row has always been something I’ve been fascinated by and reading the blurb of the book I knew it would be right up my street. What I didn’t realise though was how much I would feel emotionally for the characters, oh my the tears I’ve shed! I really think this is owing to King’s gripping writing style.
I loved the format of the book, in 6 smaller stories that made reading this more manageable. I would love to attempt more of King’s novels in the future but his novels do intimidate me. So I believe this book was a perfect stepping stone into his longer publications.
This book deserves no less than 5 stars.
