Dear Dolly: On Love, Life and Friendship, Collected wisdom from her Sunday Times Style Column by Dolly Alderton

funny hopeful informative inspiring lighthearted reflective relaxing fast-paced

3.5

Dear Dolly is a quick enlightening journalism collection that has all the same humorous quips and uplifting prose of Everything I Know About Love. It’s the perfect read for someone who wants to do some self-reflection, especially when it comes to relationship and dating anxieties. That being said, when compared to EIKAL (an all-time favorite of mine), Dear Dolly definitely lacks some of the poignant storyline and relatability that a memoir can offer. There were many times when I was hoping to turn the page and see a column about my exact issues but that’s not how journalism works. Maybe I’ll have to try writing to Dolly about my own, more niche catastrophes. Overall, Dolly Alderton remains one of my favorite writers and I’m excited to read more from her.
