✨My Opinion✨
This was a great Fall read! Spells for Forgetting is a multi POV. I could not put it down. I even read until the early hours of the morning. I thought that the multi POV worked in a neat way, giving voice and perspectives that leads the suspense further. I found the characters and their shared/individual trauma to be interesting.
The world building was superb! The way the atmosphere and tension was helped along by the omniscient island itself. The magic leaned toward magical realism, but there wasn’t much intentional magic.
The twists and turns throughout this whole book had me making quick assumptions and not even being mad when I was SO very wrong.
I adored the romance and the suspense! It was nicely paired and one didn’t overpower the other in plot, which I greatly appreciated. I am definitely a AY fan!
