I LOVED Baggage Claim and have been anticipating this new book for weeks now!
It did not disappoint one bit! I read it in one night and absolutely adored both main characters!
Layla was was funny, happy and just so sweet and Luke was a sweetheart; a sexy, funny, tall and handsome sweetheart. I like the way Smith made Layla’s character dress modestly at work and I loved that she showed Luke falling for her mind, her personality and her sense of humor first before her beauty!
The scene when they first met was just perfect! It gave me Pam and Jim vibes and made me want to get an office job just to have the kind of fun they were having at work!
The fact that they ended up being best friends was the cutest thing. I just loved the dynamic between the two of them and let’s not forget Nathan of course! Their back and forth banter was hilarious! I can’t believe it took them 3 whole years to act on their feelings, but it was entertaining to watch. It was definitely a slow burn, with only mild spice. I really liked that both characters ended up pursuing their dream careers in the end. Oh and can we talk about how Luke went up to Janice and said “PER MY LAST EMAIL”
