If you love fast-paced story about witches, magic and spells with creepy dense woods then you don’t want to miss this one!
This story started out with a strong opening and it keeps me interested from the beginning until the end. The plot flows smoothly and the writing style is easy to read. The world building is fascinating as the characters venture out to the woods. I can feel the eerie atmosphere of the dark woods vividly.
The characters are likeable and I really like the FMC – Cassandra. I admire her bravery to save those missing kids. I also like the side characters like Louisa, Theo, Pen and Will. They’re a great addition to the story.
Then there’s the mysterious character – Merich. I wish I know more about him and I don’t know if he’s gonna be the love interest but I can feel there’s something happening between the two of them.
The ending comes with a HUGE CLIFF-HANGER which is very unexpected. It serves as a good ending that makes me want to jump to book 2 immediately!
Overall, it’s a great combination of fantasy, horror and magical realism. This series has the potential to be a great one cause the plot is well written, complete with spooky settings and some action scenes!
I’m really looking forward to read book 2 to know what happens next cause there’s some questions I have that I’m hoping will be answered in the next book.
I received an advanced review copy for free from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
