I will be processing this book for the next 3-5 business days.
This book produced so many emotional reactions from me it is kind of ridiculous and yet, I am not ashamed.
- Kai and Paedyn. I am obsessed. Their dynamic, the buildup, the tension, the depth. Everything about them.
- The sexual tension in this book is insane, BUT it is also achieved without even needing to include sexual behaviors in their usual sense.
- Slow dances, lingering touches, “who did this to you?”, fixing injuries, and so much more
- The BANTER was out of this world. Was it a bit much? Maybe, but also not at all. I was eating it up and still wanting more.
- I am astounded by the emotional depth of grief scenes - side characters that I didn’t particularly care about could die and the scene portraying Kai/Paedyn’s reaction to it was deep and moving enough that I still felt deeply saddened by it.
- The betrayal. I could see it coming from a mile away but did it hurt any less? NOPE. I was still nearly hyperventilating in anxiety over what I knew was coming.
- This was 120% Hunger Games coded but I simply do not care because I loved every second of it.
- This book was cheesy as hell, but I’m not lactose intolerant so I say GIVE ME MORE
- All these beautiful reasons for my love of this book does NOT mean this book is perfect by any means. But it was perfect for me and that is all that matters.
