Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
4.0
Never Let Me Go is a sci-fi dystopian fiction based in England. I can't delve too much into the book as it would spoil the plot, but for the most part it is narrated by Kathy and follows her life from a schoolgirl at Hailsham to her life as a carer.
I saw another review saying that this book is "conversational", as a negative, and I completely agree with this however I see it as a positive. I listened to the audiobook and the narration by Kathy felt so natural and believable. I really enjoyed the storytelling and reliving her childhood at Hailsham and learning about the relationship and friendship dynamics in the school.
I had high expectations after reading Klara and The Sun which I just adored and gave 5 stars. I really love Ishiguro's writing style, his stories are so powerful and really make you consider the intricacies of life.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
