The Dog Park Detectives by Blake Mara
3.0
I have read some other ‘cosy’ murder mystery books relating to dogs and I thought The Dog Park Detectives did a good job of balancing both aspects.
I’ve got to say there were far too many characters in my opinion, and it was difficult to follow both character names and their respective dog(s) names! However I did like the characters summary at the beginning of the book and it was really helpful to keep track. I also listened to the audiobook which was good as it was a full cast narration but it was easy to get lost whilst listening to it with all the text messages and who was who. I would probably say reading the physical book was easier for me personally.
The overall outcome and the ending, I thought was well done and I find it personally very humorous. There were some parts of the narrative I just didn’t ‘agree with’ but overall it was delightful and enjoyable to read, and I would recommend it to dog lovers especially!
