So, like, nobody mentioned this book had politics and a mystery vibe? I was expecting some cheesy fake marriage and lovey-dovey stuff, but dang, was I wrong! First time diving into an Ali Hazelwood book, and now I'm low-key scared to read her other stuff, 'cause how can it top this?

It's also single POV from Misery, and that made it SO easy to read, plus she's hilarious and totally doesn't care whether she lives or dies.

I was all about the interspecies politics and the whole cultural clash thing. Misery fitting in but not really? That was cool. Loved the plot twists, although you can see them all coming from a mile away.

Only downside? Those steamy scenes were a bit too much for me. I'd prefer if they left more to the imagination, you know? Felt like reading some furry/omegaverse fanfic straight out of Wattpad circa 2014. But hey, I got over it 'cause the banter and tension between the characters? A+.

Oh, and heads up, they talk A LOT during the spicy scenes. Like, seriously, a LOT.

Also, can we just talk about Lowe? He could pin me down any day, no complaints here!
