For me, the allure of monster romances is that they really push the boundaries and have the capacity to be so fucking weird and different. This is what I think must of us enjoy about them. I don’t think Ferguson does a good job of trying to push these boundaries, it still feels very “safe” and I sort of get it, with it being tradpublished and everything BUT…that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. I went from having a decent time with this to feeling like finishing this was a chore. 

I think I really only stayed because the narrators are fantastic.
