I’m pissed that I read a book series that’s not finished yet, is all I have to say at this time.

This book was way too long, with a lot happening that tbh still has me confused. I still don't know exactly what a luminary is. Is it a thing? A person? How big is it? What's going on with the wardstones, and how does it work? A lot of technical jargon, which I think I might eventually understand if I read this book two or three more times.

Nevertheless, I was sad when I turned the last page, because it meant I had to wait for whenever the third one would come out, and I absolutely HATE reading unfinished series. And especially on a cliffhanger like that.

Speaking of hate, I can't believe not one person dissuaded Rebecca Yarros from continuing to use "Violence" as a nickname. It's not only an unfit description of Violet, a relative softie compared to her fellow Basgiath cadets, but it's cringe af. Pls I need the Violence to stop in book 3.

Now, as for the ending--the way I straightened up to crack my back and heave a huge sigh. I didn't see that coming, even though someone on Tiktok had spoiled the gist of it for me. Book 3 is going to be wild.
