Star Wars Myths & Fables by Lucasfilm Press, George Mann
3.0
I enjoyed the stories, but this book wasn't what I wanted given the title. This just felt like a collection of short stories moreso than myths and fables. With the title "myths and fables" I expected stories like the morality tales of Aesop or Brothers Grimm. I expected myths of different species and civilizations in the Star Wars universe that those beings told to explain the unexplainable, much like the Greek and Roman myths. I want this book to expose me to the different ideas of the worlds of Star Wars. I wanted something like what the ewoks may pass down to explain the Force or their battle with the empire. I wanted to know other beings interpretations on what the Force is and how it factors into their understanding of the universe. Sadly, this book was not that for me. There were maybe one or two stories of that nature in this collection, but this was mostly just short stories of uncertainty canonicity. I enjoy this book, I just wanted something more and different from a collection titled "myths and fables".
