Finally here with book 5 of the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series, which has long been one of my favourites.
I know a common complaint of these books is the repetitiveness, especially of explaining the rules of the café and the time-travelling aspect, but honestly this doesn't phase me whatsoever. These books are just a warm hug and I'm just happy that this series is still being translated into English to enjoy.
However, I didn't fully connect with all of the four stories this time around. I did relate to the father/daughter story but these didn't tug at my heartstrings or make me as emotional as the previous books.
At the time of writing this review, there is one final book in this series, published in Japanese this year, which I'm hoping will be translated and released next September and I think 6 books complete this series nicely.
3.5 stars
