A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden
5.0
I would be losing my mind if I didn't have the second book in my hand right now, but holy hockey sticks, that was a ride.
The world is familiar yet fresh, and the complexities of relationships are natural for the most part. Main female character falls into typical "I'm so angry you betrayed my trust" moments like so many of these stories, but...I love Arwen, and Kane almost reminds me more of a pirate than a King.
I was also surprised by several reveals, which rarely happens. Utterly delightful.
