Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks

Short Review

The way this book took a hold of my heart and didn't let go.

I loved it.

No, I loved Eveline. She is who held my heart the whole time reading. I love heroines like her: gentle, kind, and soft-- yet fierce. Ready to brave whatever she may face, whether or not she has the strength matters not-- she has the heart.

And of course her newly wedded husband becomes pudding in her hands.

Eveline and Graeme's romance is gorgeous. I loved every bit of it. I loved how even when he tried to keep away from her, when he thought she was nothing more than daft, he was intrigued by her, allured by her, connected to her. He was so respectful and gentle with her-- never blaming her for the sins of her family. Fiercely protective and eventually fiercely loving.

The only hiccup for me is the story lost some steam once the truth of Eveline's deafness surfaced, but the last act brought heightened the engagement once more, allowing for a thrilling finish.

This romance is low-stakes, but it will complete you whole-heartedly.
