The Cinnamon Bun Book Store by Laurie Gilmore

- Plot- or character-driven? Character
2.5
The Cinnamon Bun Book Store continues on the Dream Harbour series, where we follow Hazel, the book store manager, and Noah, the local fisherman turned entrepreneur. We had hints of their budding romance in the first book and I was really looking forward to my pre-order arriving.
What I love about these first two books is the element of mystery that is woven in alongside the romance, it's a fun sideplot. I mainly listened to the audiobook for this one, which was an easy listen but didn't keep my attention.
Unfortunately there were some red flags setting off alarm bells in my head, and when it got to the epilogue it really let the book down as I did not like the turn it took.
I still really enjoy the cosy small town vibes of Dream Harbour and I think I will at least give the third book a chance, as I haven't found too many Christmas romances.
