Never Lie by Freida McFadden
2.5
Never Lie is a psychological thriller, with dual timelines, and I had this at the top of my Freida McFadden list. It is a short, fast-paced read, like all of her works, and the audiobook is only 7 hours which I recommend.
Freida is known for her unlikeable characters but I really didn't enjoy my time in Tricia's POV and her husband Ethan is just a walking red flag. I instantly disliked him and her for *swooning* for him all the damn time. I found the psychologist Dr Adrienne Hale to be very interesting and enjoyed her POV and timeline (and the couple of mentions of well-known psychological experiments).
I liked the isolated creepy house setting, but the plot was just a tad too unbelievable for me. Another thing is there is a lot of pregnancy discussion in this book and I wasn't personally a fan of it.
The reviews are glowing for this book but unfortunately I didn't get the same experience. I was waiting for big twists and shocking revelations, and whilst I didn't guess them, they could have been better.
