How to Keep House While Drowning: A Gentle Approach to Cleaning and Organising by KC Davis

3.0

I was highly anticipating this book’s release and I had the first hold at the library.
I think I was expecting a well researched self-help book but I found it to be a very personal account by the author. Therefore, some parts I disagreed with and some parts I took issue with the way they were worded.
I think the book was put together well, with short chapters and the additional benefit of which chapters to skip if you wanted to, I thought this was a nice touch by the author.
I read the Penguin UK paperback edition, and I will say I didn’t vibe with how the book was formatted but again, this was personal preference and at the beginning of the book the author states why the font style was chosen (to aid readers with ADHD and dyslexia I believe?) but I just personally didn’t find it easy to read. Also I couldn’t stand the non-capitalisation of the words at the beginning of each paragraph 🫣
Overall I would give this book 3 stars for how much I got out of it. I would recommend giving it a go if you are interested in this title and I’ve heard that the audiobook is a good experience too.
