The Companion by E.E. Ottoman
5.0
I am a big fan of stories in which a character, who has been struggling in the big city, decides to move somewhere in the middle of nowhere, stay with a complete stranger, and then fall in love with that complete stranger. And this book gave that to me twice, as the main character falls for two local recluse instead of just one!
I really enjoyed this. It had a sort of nostalgic feeling to it that I really liked, and though the book is short and we don't get too know the characters too well, they were all lovely and I liked the dynamic they fell into.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book, and the narrator did a fantastic job.
