Forever Wild is a most exciting ride!
I have not read any of the previous Wildcat Hockey titles and one of the things that immediately called my attention in this book was how Rebecca Jenshak, with impeccable ease, allowed instantaneous and comfortable familiarization to this world to the new reader.
I never once felt I was missing a step, every previous protagonist (re)introduced as a side character brought the perfect amount of information that I could easy relay the who's and what's of this world. It made me feel so very much at home-- and that exact feeling is what I carried most with me by journey's end. I truly felt I related to these characters and their world, that I immersed myself so wholly in it and it felt like a loss once that final page was turned. Feeling like that with only having read this single book from the series showcases an already enriching experience that surely will be made tenfold once I do read the other titles. And after reading this one-- I absolutely will be doing exactly that!
Everly and Jack are wonderful leads-- two halves who complete a gorgeous, inspiring whole.
I loved how Everly effortlessly dealt with the early gruff-and-grunt works of Jack. Even with the age gap, she never felt anything less than his equal and ensured he knew that every step of the way. She challenged him. He challenged her. And I ate it all up! There is a big moment where a decision between the two must be made and if I could change one thing, I wish prior to that moment we had more of them being love/furthering their romance happening. To truly land the feeling of them being in love with one another. Nevertheless, by the final act I remained so highly engaged with these two. I wanted them to make it so badly, they deserve each other in the very best of ways.
The soulmatism of it all! Everly and Jack are absolutely meant to be, and witnessing their individual and intertwining arcs. Seeing their personal growth and romantic love story unfurl, was an absolute pleasure.
I'm so glad to have read Forever Wild and recommend to all romancers!
