The Stars are Dying by Chloe C. Peñaranda

Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
Blimey, this requires by far more editing than the few rounds that it got. The sentence structure is extremely exhausting to read and partly so confusing that I had to re-read sentences again and again. Everything feels hollow and unconnected. The world building is lacking and never answers any questions … instead I just got more confused.

Tbh it feels like a wild mixture of "From Blood And Ash" and "Serpent and the Wings of Night" and a touch of SJM's "A Court of …" series but with an additional dosage of fan service because ✨shadow daddy✨ and ✨the villain gets the girl✨. Might be tempting to fans of those series but if you don’t like them: skip this book as well.
