Mrs. Nash's Ashes by Sarah Adler
5.0
Yeah I loved everything about this book. I feel like this was the perfect blend of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo + The Things We Leave Unfinished all wrapped up in a fun and emotional rom com.
Millie was quirky and weird and that made her so relatable and honest. At times her outbursts were a little annoying but it added levity to an otherwise sad story of transporting someone’s ashes down the coast.
Hollis was a great lead as well, bringing a darker contrast to Millie’s sunshine personality.
Mrs. Nash and Elsie? A beautiful story that transcended time. I genuinely found myself loving the flashback chapters, where in books like this I usually don’t like leaving the main timeline. But this worked for me.
The road trip antics? Iconic. The karaoke, the deer, the broccoli festival (the audio of Millie’s broccoli texts had me laughing so hard).
Also, the narrator for the audio did an incredible job, I absolutely loved her performance.
