The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

Wow what a book... I am actually disappointed in myself for not picking this one up sooner. This was the first book I've read from Taylor Jenkins Reid and now I cannot wait to start on their other works, any recommendations on what to read next?
I absolutely LOVED this book and everything contained in it, the well-developed, complicated characters, the storyline and messages on love and relationships, the imagery of this glamorous, A-list celebrity life in the States. It felt so real at points I thought she was an actual person, that's how immense the writing is!
I really enjoyed the layout of the book and how it cuts between real time and reliving the past through Monique's interview. The 7 parts that the book is sectioned into gave specific attention to each husband/relationship but going through the book you just know that none of her husbands can live up to Evelyn Hugo. I particularly had a soft spot for Harry Cameron, husband no. 5.
It doesn't happen often that a book touches my soul like this one did and I have really recommended it to friends and family, giving my copy to my mum to (hopefully!) enjoy.
I absolutely adore this book, 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
