I should’ve stopped reading after the second chapter but I had the hope that it would get better. Tbh: I would’ve known better when I saw how the summary at the GR page includes the tropes. It’s rarely a good sign if you need to mention your tropes like this because it tells me that the book lacks substance, so the tropes have to carry everything. 

Both MCs are highly unlikeable but Aoife is by far the worse of them. She’s a spoilt girl who has no backbone and is so whiny. No brain either. Rather annoying for a MC. Declan is supposed to be morally grey but he seems so immature as well.
