The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman

4.0

The third instalment of the Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman and I couldn't wait for this group to return and to see what they get up to next. Osman has managed to create such likeable and relatable characters, it's incredible. My personal favourite (yes I'll be the first one to admit I have a favourite) has to be Joyce. I always look forward to her diary entries. One reason I love these books so much is the multiple POVs you get with each chapter.
This time I found the storyline to be pretty convoluted. The book would stray too far from the plot and I just felt like there was quite a bit of 'filler'. For instance the involvement of Connie Johnson? Maybe I just got lost along the way. One reason for this is probably because I read this in hardback format and it just took me an age to get through it. It was too big and bulky to pick up or take anywhere and I just never found myself reaching for it, so lesson learned.
On the whole this book was a great addition to the series, and it scores higher for me than the second book. I'm so glad to see that there will be a fourth book next September, and even with no confirmed title yet it has been added to my TBR.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
