I have heard that many people were less fond of this book than they were of Fourth Wing. Not me! I think I may have liked this one more than I liked the first book. We were finally in the middle of the plot, things were moving, and character development was evident.

Of course, the ending could be responsible for people's dissatisfaction or irritation. For me, it just gives the writer more opportunity to explore and reveal the Venin and their wyverns. It also adds drama and heightens the tension, both of which are good things.
