Ok soooo like why are these books soooo binge-able??? I love that Mairin was such a divergent character having spent ten years at an abbey she is caring and kind but also stubborn and resourceful. She pushed Ewan but was also not overly unreasonable or whatever.

I also love that compared to poor Eveline from Never Seduce a Scott, she’s folded into the clan so lovingly 🥹

Someone says the ML is misogynistic and I won’t say he isn’t at all but it wasn’t that bad, I think it fell in that “outlander’s” vibe and though he was all about “obedience” she still does what she wants and he lives so idk I think the point was he’s all bluster. Regardless, my standard for historical men is a lot lower than a contemporary man for sure lol
