I'm So (Not) Over You by Kosoko Jackson
Did not finish book.
40% DNF
I saw this book has SO many 3 star reviews and was debating on and off if I wanted to read it. Finally I decided to try it, because hey maybe my opinion will be different! But I have to agree with the 3 star reviews. I'm really not rooting for these characters to get back together, and I'm just confused - like I don't know how long they were dating, like maybe a few months? And River wants Kian to fake date him because his parents liked him, but then when he sees the parents they act like they've never met him before? And he immediately gets into an argument with River's dad? Knowing how long they actually dated for and why they broke up would be very useful information to have.
By 40% in I had no reason to want these characters back together. And there was one thing I wanted to say I liked about Kian -- in the first part of the book he always learns the waiter's names, I thought that was a nice character trait, but then that just stops happening and he doesn't learn the name of Uber and taxi drivers. So it made me question if Kian using names for waiters was a deliberate choice by the author or not.
Also just all the pop culture references were a bit much for me.
