Leather & Lark by Brynne Weaver

5.0

oh my GOD i have thoughts

- how does this compare to Butcher & Blackbird? for me, this comes in second. a slower pace, a slower burn, BUT i also really love Lachlan and Lark and the trajectory their story takes.
- if you came for the murder, you won't be disappointed, there is plenty. although the pizza thing was way overhyped. doesn't even compare to the cookies and cream ice cream.
- it took SO LONG for them to actually be physically intimate. like TOO long. BUT when they finally get to it... yeah they really go full marathon. i mean the CONCERT?? holy moly
- fake marriage of convenience? sign me UP. this was everything i wanted.
- "my WIFE" (cue me, swooning)
- i love a good dog sidekick and Bentley did not disappoint. and he in fact does not die.
- basically once the concert happens (iykyk) the whole book picks up pace and its just go go go right up to the very end.
- i appreciate getting to know a little more about Rose + Fionn in anticipation of the third book since i have no clue what that book will actually be about

- the audiobook is EXCELLENT. the narrators do a fantastic duet narration and really bring the words to life.
- there were a few scenes where i slowed the audio down because i wanted the full effect of the narrators' talent. Lark is a musician, so there are a few times where she sings and i slowed it down to appreciate the lyrics more.
