Souls and Sorrows by Sav R. Miller

4.0

Continuing on with the Monsters & Muses series, book #5 is Souls and Sorrows, where we have Cash and Ariana. Cash is Lenny's brother, from book #3 Oaths and Omissions, and Ariana is the youngest of the Ricci sisters, Elena the oldest being in book #1 Promises and Pomegranates. The beginning of the book definitely had the same vibes as the beginning of Promises and Pomegranates, with a marriage of convenience and a love triangle. Their relationship follows an enemies to lovers trope, which is full of sexual tension and heat.
I love this couple, I think Ariana has a significant darkness that surrounds her due to past trauma and Cash is not put off by this. I think Ariana's character arc was strongly developed and she was the centre of this book, with Cash taking more of a back seat.
The plot of this book was great and had a good storyline, I think it was better than some of the other books in this series. I think it's important to note that this is also one of the darkest books in the series, with significant mention of childhood abuse so again, read the trigger warnings before beginning any of these books in the series, this one in particular. I found some parts really difficult to read, it was very emotional.
Now it's time to wait for book 6 which will be the final story in the series and I'm already sad to see this series end.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
