Lights Out by Kayla James
- Plot- or character-driven? Character
1.5
I saw this book making the rounds on BookTube and wanted to give another F1 romance a go, as even though I don't have a particular interest in F1 I have enjoyed other F1 and sport romances.
I have seen in other reviews that there are inaccuracies in how F1 is portrayed in this book, which I cannot comment on as I'm no expert in the slightest. But in terms of the romance between Blake and Ryder, it was fine but nothing special or exciting. It was very fast-paced and the spicy scenes in particular were not for me. There were some reveals that I didn't care for towards the end as well.
A big issue I had was the editing of the book, there were very noticeable mistakes and they completely took me out of the story.
I won't be continuing on with this series but I am glad to have given this book a chance.
