Near the Bone by Christina Henry

4.5

I know I'm late to the scene of reading this, but WOW this book took turns that I truly didn't expect.

Very early on, you know things are suspicious, and you slowly put pieces together as Mattie regains her childhood memories, but the places this book goes is wild. I found myself jaw-dropped a few times just out of sheer "wow it really happened" moments. And the ENDING? I am very back and forth on ambiguous endings but this one was so good, I actually loved it.

This is the kind of book, and the kind of ending, that lets you talk about it with others who have read it, it invites questions and wondering just what was really going on on that mountain...
