The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

I'm giving this 5 stars only because it is a master-peice, but in terms of my own tastes in books, it would probably get a 3 star review. It is just SO not my genre of choice. I'm a Happy Ever After contemporary romance kind of person. I could not remember a single name of any character in this book other than Achilles and, like, Paris. It's just REALLY not my thing.

That said, the writing was exquisite, and, since I listened to this in audiobook form (I definitely would not have gotten past the first page if I'd tried to read it) I'd like to give major kudos to the narrator too, who was absolutely amazing and managed to keep me invested in the story all the way through.

A great book! I may listen to audiobooks of other books by the author in the future, if I ever get bored of my HEA romances!
